Our team has held advisory roles for government, operating companies, new-build developers and those contracting into the industry. We have experience of government roles in both regulation and development in the UK, Turkey, Jordan and Egypt and KSA.

We have team members with long involvement in NNB and management operational fleet in the UK and elsewhere. We also have experience in site licencing, site commissioning and decommissioning, waste materials handling and storage.

New Build

In the UK, our team has experience of supporting new build projects through site selection, licensing, regulatory and environmental consents and permits. They have supported new build management teams through initiation of NNB projects on sites at Hinkley C, Wylfa and Moorside. Members of our team have advised foreign governments on the necessary steps to initiate regulatory structures for the development of nuclear new build and have spoken on these issues at nuclear conferences.

Modular Nuclear Power Stations

We have a strong interest in the development and deployment of Small Modular Nuclear Power Stations. Our team members have written a number of papers on the topic and have presented at industry events and conferences. We have examined the regulatory and potential commercial structures for the deployment of factory built modular nuclear power stations internationally.

Decommissioning

Members of our team have over 20 years experience in advising on legal issues in relation to NDA sites for decommissioning, including Sellafield and the Magnox sites. Our lawyers are familiar with the particular aspects of the NDA contract structure enabling it to discharge its statutory functions and deliver the decommissioning and clean-up of the sites for which it is responsible.

Our team have closely followed the approach and policy behind the UK`s goal to have a long term geological storage facility, the GDF, via the RWM.
